KGW are ho-ho-hoping to raise much needed funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital this festive period. Staff got into the festive spirit early this year by pulling on their brightest and wackiest Christmas jumpers to support the hospital’s “Jolly Jumper Day” on Friday 7th December.
The money raised on the day is added to further generous donations received in lieu of sending out Christmas Cards to work colleagues, with the total sum donated to the Hospital after Christmas.
Congratulations to KG Washford’s young apprentice, Tom Jennings, who is celebrating success at the recent Midlands Group Training Services (MGTS) 2018 Apprentice Awards for Worcestershire/South Birmingham. 18 years old Tom from Studley, managed to beat off stiff competition from fellow MGTS engineering apprentices across the region to win the accolade “Most Improved Apprentice of the Year” at the Awards Ceremony held at the MGTS Training Centre in Redditch.
Following the largest annual revenue increase in the company’s 43-year history, and coupled with an ever-growing order book, KG Washford is making significant investments in both their business and in their young engineering talent of the future.
The last 12 months at KGW has seen expansion into an additional 6,000 sq ft facility to increase their capacity to design and assemble test rigs and fixtures, as well as considerable investment in new machine tooling equipment and the internal resources needed to manage the increasing demand from customers. KGW are now working in partnership with Midlands Group Training Services (MGTS) to sponsor new apprentice engineers.
As part of its business expansion programme, Redditch-based precision engineering firm KG Washford (KGW) has launched a new website that will enhance visitor experience and strengthen its digital presence.
KGW commissioned incumbent Midlands-based web design agency Clickingmad Ltd to design, build and host the new look website. The site focuses heavily on user experience, with easy navigation and high quality imagery, along with being suitable for use on mobile and tablet devices. KGW’s recent growth has been reflected in a significant rise in website traffic and it was crucial for them to invest in an adaptable digital platform that’s easily accessible. The result is a fully responsive, content-rich site, which allows for easy updating by KGW staff through its built-in Joomla content management system.
KG Washford, the Redditch based precision engineering company, has won a series of substantial new orders to design and manufacture production test rigs for its aerospace clients.
The company is one of only a few in the UK to specialise in the design and manufacture of hydro-mechanical rigs to test fuel flow systems for civil and military aircraft engines.
These test rigs act as flight simulators for engine components, testing them under real-life and extreme situations. The test rigs ensure that fuel systems components, such as fuel meters, high pressure pumps and solenoid valves, will operate safely under all conditions.
